I ALWAYS LAUGH

I always laugh at clients who bring me their car and go, "Quick vacuum. 20 minutes and we're done." The other day a family brings me their minivan. The mom we're selling soon. Just give it a quick clean. Carpets covered in crumbs, stays pretty standard. I take the quick job. Start by pulling the driver seat at the rails. I grab my multi surface cleaner, you can find at minus 10% in. That bottle cost me about 10 buck in last. Family ends up paying way more than that. They're paying for my hands and my tools. The seat with the spatula, slow, zone by zone, so nothing gets damaged. Underneath, there's resistance, like a compact old layer almost hardened in spot. The moms on the phone nearby, relax. Sure it's almost done. I keep working the fasteners loose. Rail by rail, bracket by bracket, lifting the whole seat structure bit by bit clear the space underneath. And right there, completely out, I find an entire layer of pack crumbs, wires, small toys and trash built up over years under the cushion. That's not something a vacuum fixes. This is a full intervention. Disassembly, extraction, drying. The mom, horrified. This wasn't supposed is this actually necessary? I explain. Invisible that takes years to build up. A vacuum never reaches it. Twenty minutes turns into several hours. Her, a vacuum cleans what you can see. I clean what nobody sees. She full job. Drove off four hours later. Right call agreeing. Or would 20 minutes have been enough?
