HOW TO SURVIVE
A 14 HOUR FLIGHT IN ECONOMY
(from someone who just lived it)
WITH OVER 20 INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS UNDER MY BELT
all but 1 in economy, here's exactly
what you need to do to survive >>>
PACK AS IF SOMETHING
WILL GO WRONG AKA
• seat back entertainment won't work
• your plane is stuck on the tarmac for 2 extra hours
• the person in front reclines their seat immediately
DON'T PICK A SEAT
NEAR THE BATHROOM.
People will line up there and they will be in/out all night. It's a bigger disruption than you think.
WEAR COMFY CLOTHES
ie leggings, sweats, things
that are easy to sleep in
LAYERS
It is the worst to be cold or hot on a plane.
BRING COMFY SOCKS/SLIPPERS
I always remove my shoes and put on comfier socks - it helps, trust me
NOISE CANCELLING HEADPHONES
Good ones. I use BOSE over-the-ear
ones and I love them so much
GET AN AIRFLY
Use an airfly to connect bluetooth
headphones to the seatback
entertainment. It's worth every penny!
DOWNLOADS
Download movies/books/podcasts to
your phone just in case the seatback
entertainment isn't working
WATER BOTTLE & SNACKS
Your own waterbottle and snacks.
These flights are long and it's nice to
have your own food when needed.
MEDICATIONS/TOILETRIES
I keep ibuprofen, pepto bismol,
contact solution, my glasses, portable
toothbrush, etc. all close to me
THINGS TO LEAVE AT HOME:
• extra blanket and neck pillow
(these just take up space)
• bulky jackets
• extra shoes
