Time blocking your flight is the only way to survive long haul flights. My face is in like 80 airpods. Good morning, I'm the carry-on queen. So I'm bringing back the series because I get so many questions, especially around the summer travel. Number one thing you need to consider is what time it's going to be in the city you're going to when you land. So for the sake of this video, we're going to start with like East Coast, North America to Paris, somewhere in Europe. You can take different versions of this flight, but my favorite is to leave in the evening from the East Coast and then you're going to land early mid-morning on the other side. The first hour and a bit on any flight is puttering hours. Okay, this is like I'm observing, I'm pondering, I'm listening to a podcast, I'm not diving into anything serious commitment. This is chill time. This is what we're waiting for our first meal service. Once we've had our first meal, we've got that plane movie on. We're sort of like passively vibing. We're going to take your flight and then we have about 5-6 hours to sleep time. Some of you are going to say to me, I can't sleep on a plane. Well, there are rules that will help you sleep on a plane. We can do a whole video on that. But regardless, you are active resting, which means we're not staring at the screen of our phone. We have noise canceling headphones on. We have white or brown noise. We have an eye mask. Count backwards from 100. Picture absolutely nothing in your brain. Find some way to be active resting, even if you feel like you did not get a wink of sleep. I promise you did. And if you're like, oh my god, I can't, then put on a plane movie and stop looking at your phone. Now, once you hit that sort of like six and a half, seven mark, you're starting to feel a little, you're like, oh my god, like I think I'm landing. We still have a couple hours. So this is where I always have a show downloaded on my computer or iPad that I'm like excited to watch. For me, for a while, it was desperate Housewives. You're either reading a book, you're binge watching a show. You need something that's going to bring you a little joy if you can't sleep. Then you hit the homestretch. Okay? So about an hour before landing, you're going to do a little reset. You do a quick brush of the teeth, face wipe down, change hairstyle, ponytail. Change socks. Swap shirt/sweater. REFRESH. Then you're hitting that 30 minutes to landing, you're going to be listening to your music again, you're observing, you're chugging a bottle of water. And when you mentally break up your flight that way, it honestly makes it so easy. Like a 19 hour flight, you're fine.
