Let’s start with this premise: Addiction is an attempt to solve a real problem in the wrong way. So it isn't the drug or drink that people really want, but the relief they depend on it to provide, If so, then recovery means finding this relief in its truest form, without the drug or drink. For many addicts, this relief comes in the form of the peace that comes from trusting that there is a Higher Power guiding us at all times.
