Vandalizing my apartment building in exchange for rent just kidding this is part two of painting a mural just kidding this is part two of painting a mural on my apartment building in exchange for rent on my apartment before moving out I'll be honest I've never painted a mural before but when the original mural fell off of the building during a bad storm a few years ago I kind of always thought well I'm actually the perfect person to paint something on here again especially when my landlord said she wanted her family dogs to be remembered on the building and you probably knew by now that I'm a pet portrait artist but because I've never painted anything outside I knew I had to start at Home Depot to get some help huge shout out to Tyler for being so patient with me and answering all of my my questions because I am just a little *very* indecisive sometimes but this is a big deal and I wanted to do it right so we ended up going with eight colors in a primer and then I was ready to get started but before I could prime the wall I had to wash the wall so I got some soapy water and just kind of scrubbed the area that I was going to be painting on and I grabbed my handy dandy projector Epson Flex CO-W01 thankfully I found this extension cord in the basement so I plugged it in down here and dragged it upstairs and I was so happy that it actually made it all the way out to the driveway where I needed it to go and then I had a Clark Griswold moment if you know you know and the projector did not turn on so I had to go back downstairs to unplug it and then take it upstairs to my apartment and it just reached I was like the perfect length I probably could have hand drawn them onto the wall but it was important to me to get the proportions right and just visualize the sizing and the placement on the wall before painting the prep and the setup took a little bit longer than I thought so at this point it was already dark so I returned the next day after having some cocktails with some girlfriends and officially got started by priming the wall this was one of those moments where I just stopped and thought wow I am so grateful and this is actually so cool that I get to leave my mark here and I'm just a really sentimental person so thinking about how much my business has grown makes me really emotional I'll officially start painting in part three
