So someone was asking me what like intentional parenting looks like for me and the thing I stress enough is I keep my kid away from iPads and TVs. For me, they are reserved like special occasions, hanging out with the grandparents, hanging out with girlfriends. But my kid from when she was born was not allowed to be around a TV until she was around maybe two and a half, three. To today, she does not watch TV with me. That's just not something we do. And if we do allow her to watch TV, she has to watch something in another language because she is a polyglot. She's learning five languages at the moment. She speaks Spanish, Mandarin, French, Yoruba, English. I'm missing one. But yes, she speaks multiple languages. So for us, part of educating and making sure education reigns fun is by allowing her to watch small segments of TV in another language. And we also ask our friends and our family when they do allow her to watch TV when they're not in our presence, to ensure it's in another language. But that's how I'm raising a genius.
