In part one I said I took my daughter to a conference a few weeks ago. But here's what no one is telling you in the parenting space. If your child only spends time in kids spaces, they will only be able to navigate child-like things. And then we wonder why they struggle with patience, with reading the room, with navigating certain spaces. With understanding that the world does not revolve around them. Adult environments teach children something that no classroom or playdate can ever teach them. Things like how to wait, how to be patient, how to listen when the conversation isn't about them. How to observe how other people are speaking. These are not skills children are born with. They are skills you develop through exposure. So yes, bring them to the dinner table, bring them to appropriate work functions. Let them sit in rooms where adults are talking about adult things. You are not overwhelming them. You are actually building them.
