please stop pitching business ideas if you don't have a personal connection to that idea itself. I just got off the call with the founder, I just got through their investor deck and it looked phenomenal. The only question that was resounding to me at the end of reviewing the deck, aside from like small comments, was why? Why do you care about this? Like you've told me about the business model, you've told me about the go-to-market strategy, cool. But like, why do you personally care about this? And better yet, why are you the right person to solve the problem? And the reason why, like, I think it's kind of cliché, but the reason why I think investors truly care about this is, we want to see that you're truly committed to this problem, that no matter what, it will get solved. And the example that comes to mind for me is Kim Kardashian. If you don't know the backstory, Kim said that for years before Skims was invented, she would cut up shapewear in order to properly fit her body so that she could do her red carpet walks or whatever. And it just was something that she felt so passionately about that at some point, it was obvious that a business should come from it. And now we're seeing, you know, that today Skims is what it is. But I think that's what investors want to see. They want to see that regardless of whether or not this business gets funded, you are so bothered by this, it is such a pain point in your own life that you are going to solve it because that sort of connection to the problem is what's going to get an entrepreneur through the periods of low sales or the periods where the business has to shift completely.
