3 weeks post MBA: finding income

3 weeks post MBA: finding income and I applied for a front desk position at solidcore last week. So let's talk about what's going on here. Hi, if you're new here, my name is Alyssa and I recently graduated from my Ivy League MBA with no job, no income, and really no desire to go back to corporate America. So effectively a dollar and a dream. And today we're going to be doing a full download of all the jobs that I've applied to so far, how much they pay, and what the status of those applications are. So if you are somebody who's also in a similar boat and you're looking for an odd job, tap in because I might have some resources for you. Okay, first up we have solidcore. This recommendation came from one of my friends who happens to be a solidcore coach. I am also a solidcore girly down. I've done it for years, love it. Um, but I applied maybe like a week ago, haven't heard anything back. It pays $18/hr, but the real benefit if I were to land this position is that I effectively don't have to pay for a solidcore membership, which honestly, I haven't paid for in years just because it's not part of my budget, but I would love to get back into it and if I can alleviate that cost, to me that's kind of like a win-win. So next up we have a senior analyst position at Disney in like their strategy group, I think it is. Um, one of my friends also sent me this recommendation. She works at Disney currently and I submitted my application. I believe she sent in a reference behind me. Um, haven't heard anything back and if I get that position, I believe I'm looking at somewhere between $116,000 to $160,000. So status of that, we are still waiting to hear back. In a similar vein, we have a position at Amazon on their startup ventures team, I believe it's called. Um, also came through a friend who saw one of my videos and I applied to the position, I would say like a little over a week ago. I believe he sent a recommendation behind me and I haven't heard anything back. So we'll see. Um, I believe the compensation for that is well over $150,000 and it would force me to move to San Francisco. Not obviously ideal, but I'm honestly a free agent right now. So okay, kind of shifting gears a little bit. Um, I recently got a recommendation from another friend for a chief of staff position but like really through a headhunter. So I actually applied to this position maybe like two weeks ago and I was supposed to have an interview yesterday, but I ended up canceling the interview because I have another opportunity that came along that I'm going to tell you about at the end of this video that exceeds what I need. So I applied for the chief of staff position and that one is dead because I didn't follow through. But if I were to get that position, it would have been paying somewhere between $100,000 to $150,000 depending on the firm that I landed at. In that same vein, I applied to an executive assistant position at um a venture capital firm called Imaginary Ventures. They focus on consumer and I found out about that position through a different friend and I applied to it and I think they had already actually hired somebody for it. So didn't work out. Um, but that position would have paid, actually I don't know how much that position would have paid, but I then ended up following up with one of the founders of the fund. I sent like a direct email pitching myself as investment team, um just because I feel qualified to do that and I kind of typed out this long email and I never heard anything back. So I think at this point it's probably dead for me. But if I would have gotten that investment associate position, I'm I believe I'm looking at somewhere between $150,000 to $220,000 in compensation. But that is another dead application. And then finally, switching gears to, I don't know if you guys are familiar with like these AI model training positions. I was a little skeptical at first because it sounds a little bit scammy, but it's not. So if you are seriously looking for compensation, I have two recommendations for you. First up we have MerCore. I applied to a, I think it's like private equity hedge fund um AI training position. I applied for that like maybe a little bit over a week ago and it's technically takes you like four weeks to hear back. You have to do like an a virtual interview. Um and that position pays, I believe like somewhere between $150 to $200/hr. So if you are somebody with like an IB, PE, VC background, I think they even have like consultant backgrounds, definitely check out MerCore. Um it takes a little bit longer to get processed, but definitely think it's worth checking out. But the real thing that I want to share with you guys that is no like sponsorship, no ad, literally one of my classmates told me about it. It's another AI training platform called Holuminate. I recently applied and was extended an offer letter. Guys, when I tell you God is so good, this position pays $150 an hour and it's completely self-directed so you can work as many hours as you want or as few hours as you want. So this is like my ideal position because it's not even so much that I have something against corporate as much as it is I just need the flexibility to be able to work on my own thing.
