Hook

I just graduated from an Ivy League MBA with no job and no income. And I'm not going to lie y'all, I am scared AF, okay? But I would be lying to you if I said I could not have seen this coming. So let's just talk about how we got here in the first place. If you're new here, hi, my name's Alyssa and I make a lot of business content for the girls, basically. And for the guys too, but really for the girls. And for those who know, I've been filming a lot of my past two years being an MBA student at Columbia Business School. And I knew coming into business school that I was very determined not to go back to a standard 9-to-5 or corporate if you will. No shade, no tea, it's just I knew it was not for me. And this is coming from a girl who's done it before. So with that in mind, I took a different route than I would say most of my classmates. For context, this entire year, which has been my second year of business school when typically people are applying for jobs, I have not applied for a single job. And that's because, once again, I knew in my spirit that is not what God has for me. On the flip side of that though, I have been searching for what is it though that God has for me? Because I don't think, you know, being a stay-at-home anything or just collecting a check is my portion either. And I am now at the point of graduation and I would say I've gotten some clarity, but I don't have the full picture. All I know in my heart of hearts is entrepreneurship has always been my North Star. I've always loved the idea of building something and I'm so fortunate to have the background and the experience that I do coming into this, but I also just have never done this before. So there's a lot of this that I am figuring out as I'm going, in fact everything. I feel like I'm building the rocket ship as I'm flying it. And I was debating whether or not like I wanted to be this transparent, but I think there's a lot of people who are in a very similar predicament, whether it's because you're coming out of MBA and you don't have your job lined up, whether it's because you're coming out of MBA and you know you want to be a founder or an entrepreneur, or maybe you're somebody who just got laid off because like that's happening and you're trying to figure out your next steps, or maybe you're just somebody who's waiting to start their next job and you're just trying to figure out the in-between. Like there's so many different people, especially in this economy, who are up against so much, but you know you're meant for more and I feel like that is who I am. And so anyways, I once again didn't know if I was going to actually open up my camera to try to document this part of my journey, but I feel like really honestly called and convicted to do it. So if you can relate to that in any way, like please tap in.
