Why it worked
The video challenges conventional sales wisdom with a contrarian take, which can be attention-grabbing. It uses a direct and somewhat provocative tone to engage viewers interested in sales and marketing strategies.
Summary
The video argues that sales is not about convincing people, but rather about helping them decide. It contrasts this with marketing, which is about finding people ready to buy, and suggests that sales should focus on convincing those who are not yet ready. The creator dismisses the idea that sales is solely about persuasion as "bullshit advice."
Structure
1Sales is about helping people decide, not convincing them to buy.
2Stop chasing people who don't want what you're offering.
3Marketing is finding people ready to buy.
4Sales is convincing people who aren't quite ready.
5Sales is about persuading people they need something they thought they didn't.

Sales is not about convincing
Transcript
Sales is not about convincing you. Once you figure out sales is about helping people decide and not convincing them to buy. You won't try to convince anyone anymore. Because you stop chasing people who don't want what you're offering. This is the worst bullshit advice ever. Marketing is about finding people who are ready to buy. Sales is about convincing people who aren't quite ready. Sales is about convincing people that maybe they do need something that they thought they didn't. That's literally what sales is. You know, you have to know how to persuade and convince people that maybe they do need something that they thought they didn't. Marketing when you run ads, you're trying to find people who are already ready to buy. Not sales. Not sales.
