ONE DAY!

I finished a sketchbook in a day. Let's unpack. I'm not even sure how. I wanted to try and fill a sketchbook in a day since I was a teenager. No joke. And I can't lie, I think I smashed it. I've done and filmed all of it. So you're coming along for the emotional journey. The sketchbook that I'm using is from Tobio's miniature watercolor kit. And I work with this brand quite a lot. So I'm very familiar with the product. I knew that if I was going to fill 60 pages in 12 hours, I needed to go small. So the kit is perfect. It also comes with everything that you need as a watercolor beginner. And I still enjoy them as a professional. So, anyway, back to the painting. I wanted to get some portrait practicing. I haven't drawn people for a very long time. And for me, to make portrait painting fun, I always do like a base color. Sometimes a marker, but this time in watercolor and then refine on top, either with color pencil or fine liner. And I loved how these ladies came out. You can find all of the references that I used for this project on my Pinterest. I made a special board for them. Including this golden find, which is Roll-A-Matisse. So you roll the die, it gives you a shape, and then you make it. Repeat 5 times using different colored paper/card each time. When you have your 5 organic shapes, arrange and stick them onto colored paper/card. Your Matisse masterpiece is complete. I did this for six full pages because it's just such a good, mindless way of filling up space in your sketchbook and also good warm-up activity to get the creative juices flowing without being too taxing. After those two activities, I was kind of a free for all. I've got about a third of the way, maybe more than a third of the way through. And then we have a fan favorite. We love fish in the dells. It's actually really cool doing community because everyone is doing their whole very best. And these fish came out so cute that I made it into the print of the snail mail. But I did start to hit the wall at this point. I mean, it was dire. Guess what else I drew while you wait for part 2 hehe
