I finished this sketchbook in one day and I'm gonna take you through it this is the sketchbook tour the pages in this sketchbook are 8 cm by 8 cm and I wanted to do it at this size because I knew it would be an achievable task ain't nobody filling an A5 sketchbook in in 24 hours I mean that is crazy work and I think this sketchbook had just under 60 pages so about 58 if I remember correctly and I counted having a drawing on one of the pages of the double page spread as complete because I don't hate myself and it's okay to stray from perfection from time to time I did have a few goals for this sketchbook one of them was to practice faces I haven't done any portrait practice for a really long time so I started off doing these kind of like high contrast pictures of women they're pretty easy so I just had to put down a block colour and then do the shapes in black on top but I knew they were gonna be the hardest so I did them first and they were also the most time consuming my other main goal was to make some drawings that can be turned into stickers is if I paint and draw something at the scale and I turn into a sticker the sticker is likely to be pretty much the same size so if your painting or drawing fits in the format then it will probably make a good sticker another thing I really like about this scale is that less can go wrong the bigger the artwork the more potential there is to make mistakes and the more detail you have to include a painting or drawing that is the size of your palm fundamentally has to be more simple and that's partly why keeping a sketchbook is so accessible to so many people so keeping a sketchbook is just one of the easiest ways to learn and practice practice how to draw and paint it is one of a long list of reasons why I'm an avid sketchbook user and promoter I love it so much most of the stuff I share on social media is sketchbook based and that is why this is a challenge I've wanted to do for so long when I was a teenager I watched religiously like videos on YouTube of people finishing a sketchbook in a day and I was always really interested in like the creative fatigue that kind of comes three quarters of the way through or halfway through and I did experience that that is why I used a lot of Pinterest references and I kept them all on a board so if you're interested if you're feeling inspired by any of the things that I have painted in here lots of them are saved to board on my Pinterest which you can find on my linktree it is called Millie Does Good the same as all of my other social media and I really need to start posting my art on Pinterest I really just can't be bothered I have so much of it now that it would be so hard to catch up my final goal for this challenge was to finish it there were several moments during this challenge where I could have just given up could have said oh I'm gonna finish it in two days instead of one day but I was honestly so determined and the fact that I did finish it is just feeding my delusions this will also be the second sketchbook that I start and finish this year in 2026 which means I've completed one of my 2026 goals I have nine I made like a 2026 bingo card at the beginning of the year and I can confirm that's all of 9 complete I'm gonna do another video talking through both of them at the same time and also I hope to finish at least two more sketchbooks this year I think I keep a regular a5 sketchbook which I'm really bored with um the the spine is kind of coming apart a little bit and I'm very ready to say goodbye and after that I would have completed 11 sketchbooks are you fucking joking kind of average completing a sketchbook every nine months but this year like three sketchbooks in a year is crazy work obviously I completed this one in just a day and then the other one I completed this year I completed in like two weeks because it was a travel sketchbook and it had like I don't know 12 pages or something in it it still counts OK it still counts coincidentally that was also a watercolor sketchbook but I don't really like watercolor as a medium but somehow I'm just like doing a load of watercolor this year I think I just really like watercolor paper it's just so sexy and actually having good watercolor paper like paper that is really good to do watercolor on you can immediately tell the quality difference and it makes for such a better watercolor experience if you hate watercolor try get some really nice paper because honestly it will change your life I think in this sketchbook I've demonstrated a lot of different things that you can try as a beginner none of them are that hard about 20 of them are just me doing a drawing with a pen and then colouring it in and everyone loves colouring in there's only a couple of drawings in here that I actually really don't like and they're ones where they probably could have been left as a pen drawing and they didn't need colouring in like the the watercolour doesn't t really add anything to it in fact it kind of takes away from the impact that the drawing was already having which is really interesting that's never really occurred to me before like here I just I just I don't like that painting at all I was really surprised that I end up liking basically everything in the sketchbook because you can't really do 60 drawings and paintings and expect to like all of them oh I'm actually not a fan of this one either or the one at the end to be honest when you have three pages to go you really just do anything to get it done so anyway I hope you enjoyed and I kind of fix your attention span for 4 minutes of your time
