If you're newly diagnosed with Lupus, I wish someone told me not to do. Someone who literally made all these mistakes. And I promise you the last one everyone. Number one, don't try to test your time in the sun. You are more sun sensitive as being a Lupus Girl. You need to be wearing your sunblock, wear a hat, a good sun protective shirt when you are out, especially in the summertime. Also, don't stand up longer than you need to. It is really important for your joints to give yourself breaks. So whether you're at work or hanging out, make sure you have time built in and listen to your body for when to sit down. And this one honestly might be the most important. Do not try to keep track of all your symptoms in your head. I know when you're newly diagnosed, everything is happening all at once, thinking you can remember it all. I can promise by the time the doctor, on three weeks worth of stuff. What I do now is I found this app that's made for people with Lupus, and it specifically tracks all of your symptoms for you. I just text the app like it's a friend and tell her all my symptoms, track of them for me. It also points out specific triggers may be occurring then before the appointment. It also takes all of those symptoms you've been tracking in a clean PDF report that you can give to your doctor. Trust me, this would have saved me so many useless appointments early on. That's it. Thank me later, but if you have any more useful advice, leave it in the comments.
