Hi Denver, I have the ultimate summer day trip you're going to want to save. You'll get epic mountain views, cool off from the heat, and discover some amazing foodie spots. My name is Emily and I share fun day trips and adventures. Today we're heading to Georgetown, just an hour from Denver. Start your morning in Empire right off I-70 with donuts from Lady Donuts. My favorite is the blueberry one, but honestly, you can't go wrong with any of their flavors. Next head over to Georgetown Lake where you can rent a kayak or paddle board and spend the morning out on the water. It's the perfect way to cool off and you can even use my discount code to save 10% on your rental. If fishing is more your style, this is a great spot for that too. Plus the mountain views are incredible. After your paddle, grab lunch at Cabin Creek Brewing, located right next to the lake. We each ordered a post-paddle beer and split the half order of nachos and they were honestly some of the best we've had. Before heading home, spend some time exploring Georgetown's charming downtown. You can browse local shops or hop on board the historic Georgetown Loop Railroad for a scenic ride throughout the mountains. If you have a little extra time, take the scenic route home over Guanella Pass. You'll pass Mount Bierstadt, enjoy incredible alpine views, and if you're lucky, you might even spot some wildlife along the way. Save this itinerary for your next Colorado adventure and let me know where I should explore next fall for more Colorado day trip ideas. Save this and follow for more!
