Nvidia's circular deals are worrying. Nvidia is negotiating the single largest financial guarantee in tech history and the AI infrastructure bubble has officially lost its mind. The Wall Street Journal just leaked that Nvidia is in talks to provide a $250 billion dollar backstop for Open AI. SoftBank wants to build a 10 GW data center in Ohio to run OpenAI's next generation models and the facility is so big that SoftBank needs Nvidia to guarantee a quarter of a trillion dollars before ground. For context, that backstop is worth more than the entire gross domestic product of New Zealand. If this data center bet doesn't pan out, the crash is going to take the entire tech economy down with it.
