One week. It still doesn’t feel real that you’re gone. You were far too young, and you had so much more life to live. You were one of the people I always imagined growing old with, and it’s hard to make sense of a world without you in it. Cancer is cruel. It doesn’t care about your plans, your age, or the children who still need their mom. It just takes, and it’s heartbreaking. I wish I had known our last conversation would be our last. There are so many things I still want to tell you. Most of all, I want you to know how deeply you were loved. If there’s one thing I hope people take away from your story, it’s this: please get your skin checked. Melanoma can often be treated when it’s caught early, but it can become devastating if it isn’t. Don’t put it off. I’m grateful you’re no longer suffering, and that brings me some peace. But I miss you every single day. I love you, Kassandra! 💗
