I'm fully booked esthetician who has built like a decent following on social media and I've been receiving an influx of invitations from schools, businesses, estheticians, spas to come teach or talk about tips and tricks on building clientele, building my social media. And to be honest, that will never happen because I can not speak in front of crowds. It honestly makes me my anxiety just could never. So I'm just gonna share some of my tips and tricks on here. I'm gonna start with social media. When it comes to social media, I'm still a bit newer. I've only been posting for about seven months, which is wild. But consistency is key. Everybody talks about it, but not just consistency in posting, consistency in your posting style. And what I mean by that, when I post, my lighting is the same, my camera settings are the same, I edit in the same style, I shoot from the same angles. That way when my videos pop up, you know it's me and they have a familiar feel. I've done marketing for multiple luxury brands and creating a brand image is key for success. This could be from color schemes, background music, the way you dress etc. You are the product and in a sense that you are selling. And if you look at any brand, they all stick to certain vibes, they stick to certain tones and you need to have that. You want to create a brand image around yourself. This one is a little bit controversial. I truly believe that when you first start posting on social media, you should really niche down a little bit. For me, obviously, it was like facial massage, relaxing facials. And that is kind of what I've become known for. So when I post those videos, they do well and I attract so many clients. Much easier to market yourself when you're known for something. Obviously, I do other things, but people know me for my relaxing traditional facials. And that is what books me. And that is what keeps me booked. I know it sucks. Talking videos guys, like I see a lot of estheticians doing like the lip sync and all of that, which is great. But talking, like, getting your true personality out there, that's what you want. The amount of time people come to me because I said something online that resonated with them or they just liked my vibe. I'd say probably 25 to 30% of my clientele, just from that alone. Not because like, oh, I want a service, I want this. No, like I just wanted to meet you. Like I liked the way you talk skin, like, talking and talking in your style, don't say things that you think people want to hear. Truly talk about what you care about and how you feel about skincare. There's literally so much that goes into social media. And if you are looking for someone who's really gonna kind of nail down your social media and help you grow it, give you really individualized feedback, you need to follow her name is Emma. I am going to tag her. She is fantastic. I have learned most of my tips and tricks that has made me successful on social media from watching her videos. Now, moving on to building a clientele when you're first starting, retaining clients, obviously there's so much that goes into it. I'm just gonna give you what has worked for me. Let's say I have just graduated school and you should have been building your clientele while you were in school. That's like one of the easiest things to do to graduate with clients. But say you're graduating and you have no clients. I'd start doing giveaways. I'd talk to my family, I'd talk to friends of family, do giveaways, get people in the room. This is gonna start the word of mouth rolling. You can also use those facials to film content. Partner with complimentary businesses. This is huge. I have done multiple giveaways with local businesses like for Mother's Day, where I partnered with a well known bakery and gave away a facials and a dozen cinnamon rolls. They put me on their Instagram for the giveaway and it brought me good exposure. One, it gets you exposure in the community. Two, it gets more people in the room. And when I tell you, when you're starting out, you just want to get people in the room the first month. It doesn't matter how you get them there. Film the content, do a kickass service, get the word of mouth rolling. Partner with local businesses. This is huge. The amount of times I have had people tell me, oh, like, that was so nice. That was so different. I've never had an esthetician follow up with me. What? When I follow up with my clients, typically it's two days post-service, sometimes a little bit later depending on what we are doing. That's typically when people rebook because they love the way their skin looks. Like, oh my god, like my skin looks so good. Like I want to get back on your books. There's huge thing for making sure your clients are satisfied. Ask them what their goals are. It is a question that is on my intake form, but I also ask them when they are coming to me. Sometimes they just want to relax. So you perform an amazing relaxing facial. They're gonna love it. Other times they have bigger concerns. Knowing your goals so you can target treatments and know how many treatments you recommend is essential for keeping clients. There's huge thing, offer services you are passionate about. For the love of God. I see a lot of people kind of dipping their toe into a lot of different categories, like trying to make more money, trying to get more clients, whatever it is. That's fantastic. But clients can feel when you are not passionate about what you do. I am extremely passionate about relaxing, gooey gooey facials. I love them. They are my bread and butter. And clients can feel that they booked that service with me because I love doing it. It also makes it a lot easier on you because you're not gonna burn out as easily if you're doing something that you're passionate about. Back to what I said about social media earlier, become known for something. It doesn't have to be like super popular, but really niche down a little bit on one particular category at first. You can obviously offer other things, but you really want to be known for something. I am known for my traditional like relaxing facials, my face massage, your chemical peels, whatever. You can be known for like acne treatments or treating pigmentation. Whatever it is, become known for something. If you look at all the successful estheticians, you can kind of pinpoint, oh, they're fantastic at this. Like they're kind of known for this. Not saying you always have to stay that or like the thing that you're known for can't change. But when you're first starting, getting your name out there is so much easier when you are known for something. Be you. Do not try to impress people. Do not try to impress the esthetician community. Truly be yourself and you will attract clients that are meant for you. I promise you. This video is already so long, so I apologize, but kind of just to finish it off, be you. Do not try to impress people. Do not try to impress the esthetician community. Truly be yourself and you will attract clients that are meant for you. I promise you.
