people hate to see hispanics/latinos thriving academically

I was scrolling Reels the other day and I saw this video. It was a group of Latino students celebrating their college graduation as they should. And I'm there watching this thinking, wow, this is so cool, representing, you know? Then I open the comments. Getting accepted w/o SAT scores into a woke school is not a flex. Lolol the definition of DEI. Congrats! Latinos and nudes for not wearing Mexican paraphernalia!!!! These comments are on people with... people hate to see Hispanics/Latinos thriving academically. Right, because every Latino is Mexican. Duh. Look, I understand that haters are inevitable, they're everywhere and criticism is just a part of posting online. And even as a Hispanic, studying at Princeton University, I get comments like this too. Except I really don't care. But then again, some of these people getting upset because they think that immigrants are draining government resources and funding. Yet when they're trying to get an education and better themselves, it's also a problem. Has it ever occurred to you that Hispanics and Latinos are people as well, and their accomplishments like everyone else aren't just for the sake of meeting some diversity quota? You still have to be qualified to get into a top university. I know people from all walks of life that got rejected from top schools. For the story, when you're Hispanic or Latino, unfortunately, people will be getting upset when you accomplish great things. Don't let it get under your skin. Keep working hard and keep going. What those four Latino students did is incredible and you can do the same. And their comments are just a reflection of that. We we lo que pa'lante bebé.
