If you're still using Gmail, check this before it's too late. Open your Google account. Go to data and privacy. Then, open web and app activity. Scroll down until you find include voice and audio activity. If this setting is enabled, Google may save recordings from some of your interactions with its services, like Google Assistant or voice search. If you don't need that, you can turn it off. While you're here, check these settings too. Location history, YouTube history, ad personalization. Most people never look at these settings, even though they can reveal a lot about how they use their devices. And remember, you don't have to stay inside one ecosystem forever. If privacy is important to you, there are plenty of alternatives. For email, you can look at Proton mail or Tuta. For search, Brave Search, DuckDuckGo, or Kagi are great options depending on what you're looking for. And if you're more technical, self-hosting your own services is always an option too. You don't have to switch everything overnight. Just knowing these alternatives exist is a great first step. If you know any other privacy tools or tips, leave them in the comments, I'm sure they'll help else too.
