A man in Indiana was charged with arson after he used a kitchen knife to cut off his own penis, then doused it in gasoline and lit it on fire in his mother's garage, according to police documents. When first responders arrived on the scene, the suspect's family stated that he was missing. The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Christopher Peden, originally told medics that he had been stabbed at a different location. After he was transported to a hospital, Peden admitted to authorities that the wound was self-inflicted. The man also stated that he had started the fire in the garage. Police say they found the remains of a gasoline container, four lighters, and a kitchen knife near the scene of the crime. According to online court records, Peden was released from jail on July 7 after posting a $10,000 bond.
