PR FESTIVAL WEEKEND, ROCHESTER NY. VOILENCE ACROSS OUR COMMUNITIES HAS TO STOP.

This problem trickles down into so many i’m not gonna lie. My page is where I share my outlook & opinion on plenty of things, but this is just sad bro i don’t know what to say. I stopped going outside unless it was my sisters events because of sht like this, this sht is just heartbreaking to see my people cycle thru ts repeatedly. I don’t mean black people, I mean my city. I see: - FB mention of PRs spewing racist comments toward the black community - RPD inciting violence instead of de-escalating - Perpetual community violence - perpetual gun violence - PERPETUAL FAILURE TO RESPECT THE DEAD. - Lacking route of procedure by the City of Rochester & RPD, leading to an influx of chaos rather than a decrease. Something standing out so hugely to me is how on facebook, instagram, etc folks are conversing about the young woman who’s lost her life a night of violence (rightfully sow) & PRs v BLACKS. I hate to say it, but this was a direct attempt by the police department to cause civil unrest between communities at a time where racial tensions are HIGH. We’ve just celebrated the 7th Annual Black Culture Festival where fellow community members were unhappy with the visible lack of attendees and the PR Festival Weekend where it seems numbers did not disappoint, but community members also felt strong emotions about lack of presence for our own community.
