Record-breaking
Purja, known as Nims,
his Netflix documentary
which followed his feats
of mountaineering, has
died in an avalanche
on a mountain known
as Broad Peak.
That is according to his
statement earlier today.
Now, his elder brother has
said, "I feel as though I
have lost my whole world.
My brother was not only
my younger brother,
he was my heart." Now,
these are images of the
mountaineers before
the avalanche hit.
In total, 10 climbers
went missing.
None have been
found alive.
authorities here in
Pakistan have only
confirmed that they
have the remains of
three of the climbers.
However, bodies have
been spotted by drones
on the mountain.
At the moment, rescuers
to get close enough
to be able to confirm
the identity and the
condition of those bodies.
But the Alpine Club of
Pakistan has said the
chances of finding a
survivor at this stage,
more than 48 hours after
the avalanche, are slim.
