IS THE 4RUNNER EVEN WORTH THIS??

Everybody wants a Toyota 4Runner, but can you actually afford one? Let's find out. This is a 2025 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off Road. It is a hybrid and it is four wheel drive. It has a starting price of $51,990. Then it has a delivery fee of $1,500. And it has multiple manufacturer add-ons, pre-wired aux switches for $400, the 18 inch altering tires which is an additional $1,399, Toil Guard Platinum for another $699, the crossbars which are another $529, the LED illuminated emblem is an additional $449, all weather floor mats for another $359, and the all weather cargo mat for another $229. The multimedia screen protector is an additional $129. And the phone cable charge package is an additional $79. All of that added on by the manufacturer. Then the dealership adds another $4,995 for the ceramic and the paint protection. Now all of that brings a total listed price to $62,757 for this Toyota Forerunner. Now for this 2025 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off Road, if you added an 8% sales tax to that, that would add another $5,020.56 in sales tax, which then brings the total amount to $67,777.56. But let's say that you wanted to finance that total amount with zero dollars down, you got to prove for a 9% interest rate for six years, which is a total of 72 months. Then your monthly car payment alone would be $1,221.73. And the total interest paid would be $20,186.78. But during the course of those six years that you're financing, you would end up paying a total of $20,186.78 in interest. But of course, you can't just look at the monthly car payment when you're trying to see if you can actually afford a vehicle. So you have to look at all the monthly expenses, things like car insurance, which would be about $191.00 a month on average. Your monthly gas costs would be about $262.50 a month, and your maintenance costs would be about $72.50 a month if you divide that evenly across the entire time that you're financing. If you had all those monthly expenses together, your car payment, your insurance, your gas, and your maintenance, then you would be paying about $1,747.73 a total for this Toyota Forerunner. Now, let's say that you wanted to keep those total monthly expenses at 15% of your average annual income. In order to comfortably afford this 2025 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off Road, you would need to be making about $139,818.15 a year, and $15.00 annually in order to keep those monthly expenses at a comfortable 15% of your average annual income.
