Their other posts in the index, biggest breakout first.
I dropped my sorority because of an instagram post hold down for 2x I dropped my sorority because of an instagram post hold down for 2x I dropped my sorority because of an instagram post hold down for 2x For backstory, everybody knows this, but your Instagram is the first thing that the sororities check before you even go through recruitment. So they already knew what my profile looked like. I've been posting these same ways since I was like in high school. I've always loved dressing up, taking pictures, creating content and posting on my social media. I also know that with being in a sorority, there are rules that you have to follow and obviously I'm not gonna post drinking, smoking, drugs, explicit content, cussing, like you know what I'm talking about. I'm not posting that. So I was in the sorority for two years and my first year I had absolutely no issues. Spring break of my sophomore year, I went to Miami with a bunch of my friends and one of the days we went to Fort Lauderdale and so we took a bunch of pictures as college girls do and I made a dump post. Some of the pictures were with my friends, some of them were me individually, some of them were front facing, some of them were back facing. So I posted it and literally right after I get a message from social media. They had their own Instagram account and they DM me the post and said, "Take this down." I didn't open the message yet because I knew that I didn't post anything regarding the guidelines that was inappropriate. So I'm out having fun, like I will deal with this tomorrow or when I get back from vacation. I didn't really think it was urgent. So the next day, I'm at the beach all day and I open my phone to two messages. The first one, like caring the message, and the second one was, "This is your last warning before this results in an SOR." If you get an SOR, you have to go into honor board and have a meeting to potentially lead to you getting kicked out of the sorority. So at this point, I was like, you know what? I'm not deleting the post and I'll just talk to honor board and accept the SOR because I was already thinking about dropping. There were several reasons and experiences that I dealt with with the sorority, including my bid day. If you guys want to watch the video, it was just not for me and it was very obvious. I mean, you can back me up on this. Most sorority girls have bikini pictures posted. And that is not an explicit content or inappropriate, but like me trying to show off my body type, like I'm confident and so yeah, I'm gonna show it all off. There's nothing wrong with that. And the fact that they thought that that was making it that way was disappointing. So then, this is how I knew I was done for good was an advisor who I have never met in my life, never even spoke to, she literally looked me in the eye and said, "Good luck finding a job with the social media that you have." At this point, I was speechless. I'm more red than I already was and she just starts giving me examples and how if there's two people applying for a job and one of them has social media like mine, she's not gonna pick them. It literally felt like they were judging me as a person based off of a picture. If you guys get what I'm trying to say, and it's crazy because if only they knew I was the furtherest girl away from that. So in that exact moment, I said, okay, I'm dropping. Thank you guys for your time. Thank you for the last two years, but I just felt so disrespected on multiple occasions. So I signed the paperwork that day and left. I have never looked back, never regretted it and yeah. So for reference, you guys, my little bikini picture on the beach was not appropriate, but having a school girl themed formal, lingerie and mini skirts is. Don't get me wrong, like I love that formal outfit, but like really. The craziest part of all of it is that I was told that my social media would ruin my future and literally that's what started it all. Leaving that school and leaving that sorority was one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself and I am so proud that I did that. Also for you guys that are rushing, do not let the bid day story time or this story time scare you in any way. Definitely go through the process. This is definitely not normal. I don't know any of my other friends who have issues like this. So yeah, thank you guys for watching and good luck with rush and if you're in a sorority, enjoy it.
