I lived in Uluwatu for a year and then now I live in Canguu for two months and these are the differences between them. In Canguu everyone is definitely on their grind. People are going into the gym, they're locked in, but I also think that they're all moodier. You drive around, people don't seem as happy. On the other hand, Uluwatu, they're all like surfer, chill, don't really want to grind, just want to be in the ocean. And it's a much nicer vibe. I think the people are nicer there. Canguu also has just a lot of opinionated men, which as a woman I don't love. I've had a few arguments with some. And you really won't find in Uluwatu. Canguu gyms are amazing whereas in Ulu, there's only really bamboo gym and Ulu fit. There's no nice beaches in Canguu. Sorry, I hate to break it to you, but it's just not the place for beaches. They do have incredible beach clubs and chill days. If you go to the further hotel rooftop, oh my god. But Uluwatu beaches are absolutely to die for. A lot of people think Uluwatu doesn't have much to do, but there is literally something incredible every single night and there's incredible restaurants. I personally prefer the Uluwatu nightlife, it's not like stuck up stuff kind of vibes. Whereas in Canguu it's like promoter, kind of tables and whatever. If you can't tell, Uluwatu is definitely my favourite.
