Each year, the United States Department of Agriculture, the USDA, releases what they call the maximum allotment chart, which tells you how much increase in food stamps you are going to get for the year. And they usually announce it in August or September and then it goes into effect on October 1st of that year. So, this is a chart that a lot of people look forward to because it is your food stamps increase. It is your cost of living adjustment for your SNAP benefits. And it is done to keep up with inflation. And because inflation has gone up and stayed up for a lot of food prices, this is an announcement that a lot of people have been anticipating. But here's the thing. The numbers came out and it is very disappointing. So I'm going to share that with you. So I'm going to walk through what each household is going to get based on the number of people in the household and what the increase is from the previous year. So let's get started. Starting in October 1st, 2024 through September 30th, 2025, here are your food stamps maximum benefits. For a household of one, your maximum benefit is $292, an increase of $1. For a household of two, your maximum benefit is $536, which is an increase of $1 from last year. For a household of three, your maximum benefit is $768, and that's an increase of $2 from last year. For a household of four, your maximum benefit is $975, which is an increase of $2 over last year's benefits. For a household of five, your maximum benefit is $1,158, and that is an increase of $3 from last year. For a household of six, your maximum benefit is $1,377, which is an increase of $3 from last year. For a household of seven, your maximum benefit is $1,577, which is an increase of $4 from last year. For a household of eight, your maximum benefit is $1,756, and that is an increase of $5 from last year.
