Every school year is another reminder that progress doesn’t always look the way the world expects it to. People often measure success by grades, awards, or comparing one child to another. I measure it by something different… courage, growth, determination, and refusing to give up. Avalynn has faced challenges that many people will never fully understand. Yet she continues to show up with a smile, a backpack full of dreams, and a heart that reminds me every day that success isn’t about being the fastest, it’s about never quitting. As her dad, I’ve learned that advocacy isn’t just fighting for services or accommodations. It’s celebrating every milestone, no matter how big or small. It’s believing in your child even when others underestimate them. It’s making sure they know they’re capable, loved, and worthy of every opportunity this world has to offer. This year is another opportunity for her to learn, grow, make memories, and continue proving that disabilities do not define potential. To everyone following our journey, thank you.
