Here are a few things that genuinely help me stay organised at school. First, if your school lets you take notes during lessons, don't try to write down every single word your teacher says. Just write a few bullet points with the most important information, then when you get home, use those bullet points to research the topic and write proper notes. I think you understand it a lot better that way. My school actually doesn't let us take notes because people kept getting distracted, so I have to remember the key points and write them down afterwards. Another thing is you really don't need a different notebook for every subject. I only use three. One is for subjects like maths, science and computer science, another is for essay subjects like English, Spanish, sociology and religious studies, and then I have a sketchbook for art and design technology. Just make sure each subject is easy to find by using clear headings or colour coding. I also try to do my homework as soon as I can instead of leaving it until the last minute. I keep a whiteboard in my room where I write all my homework deadlines and any upcoming exams, so I always know what I need to do and I can spread the work out instead of stressing the night before. Something else that really helps is getting everything ready the night before. I'll check my timetable, pack my bag, lay out my uniform, and make sure I only take what I actually need. It saves so much time in the morning, and my bag isn't ridiculously heavy. When I'm revising, I colour-code topics depending on how confident I feel. Green means I've got it, yellow means I need a bit more practice, and pink means I'm still struggling. The day before an exam, I'll make one A4 summary sheet with all the things I keep forgetting and read through it on the bus or before lessons. Finally, I really recommend studying with other people if you can. Having a study group keeps me motivated because it feels like we're all working towards the same goal.
