God's preparing your future wife. And that's the very reason He's breaking you. Here's what you have to understand: if He's preparing her for you, then He has to prepare you for her. Both of you. At the same time. And your half of that preparation doesn't always feel gentle. So this season of waiting, this difficulty you're in — you've been reading it as punishment. It isn't. Your prayer was heard. It was already answered, and it's still being answered, quietly, until the right time finally comes. One day you'll look back and understand exactly why it had to happen this way. "Every branch that bears fruit, He prunes, that it may bear more fruit" (John 15:2). You're not being punished. You're being pruned. God is cutting away what can't come with you — so you can carry more than you ever could before. Because what you're asking for is a gift. "He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the LORD" (Proverbs 18:22). And here's the truth most men never accept: if she's a gift to you, then you have to become a gift to her. You don't get handed a treasure while you're still unable to hold it. The breaking was never the punishment. It was the preparing. And "her" isn't one specific soulmate — it's the caliber of woman God prepares for the man you're being pruned into. If you want to learn how to become that man — follow.
