Seating Policy: Reservations are for a two-hour period, beginning at the confirmed reservation time. We seat complete parties only. and it says no *dirty* sneakers. and we walked up and he was like, oh, you can't come in if you have sneakers. but one. We have a reservation. not visibly worn or dirty and two, it- that's not what your thing said. no, we don't allow that. I feel like if it wasn't me walking up and it was somebody else, people at melrose w sneakers (i did my research bc i had a gut feeling i was going to be denied) maybe we would have got in. cause i don't quite fit- there's a thing there- they have this on their website so they can pick and choose whenever they want i don't quite fit their demographic. so don't go to melrose if you're alternative, I guess. it's fucking crazy. in the heart of an alternative neighborhood. yeah. in the heart of a queer, alternative neighborhood, you're gonna not let a queer, alternative person into your place? whatever. i just wanna add also, it's fine that we weren't allowed in. like, we went and had a good time somewhere else. i just think it's interesting that, like, i had a gut feeling that I wasn't gonna be allowed in. because people that look like you don't go in there. i took great lengths to make sure that I was abiding by their dress code. and i was like, reading their stuff. i was researching what other people were wearing. like, i looked that up beforehand. cause i was like, i don't own dress shoes. let me make sure this is okay. and they said the thing about visibly worn. (and i saw a bunch of other people wearing sneakers) the cleanest shoes I have. and they still denied us, so I guess it's just a psa. that if you, uh, they're gonna hold you to a higher standard because they don't want you there. which, like, you just probably shouldn't go there. sorry, one more thing. a friend of mine went to their sister location that same night. 1111 but like, later they did a similar thing where they were old. 1111 oh, your shoes, we can't let you in. they're like, not nice enough. and, like, she was not wearing sneakers. she was wearing like, nice, like, fancy shoes. upscale shoes. and i think what they do cause, like, your fit is fine. they, like, say that your shoes aren't good. if they don't want you to come in. i saw some other videos of some people saying that they weren't let in for, like, at some point they said it was because somebody what somebody was wearing so they went and changed they came back, then suddenly the story was, oh, you have to know someone to get in. so it kinda just seems like they're once arbitrary with what they say. their rules are. it's their place. they can do what they want. yes, that's fine. i'm not saying they can't. obviously. if you see a person that looks alternative or doesn't fit their very specific type of person they want. which is kinda ironic, given that you're in montrose, one of the most diverse cities, so whatever. It's not that big of a deal. but it is a thing that happened and i do think that they have a specific demographic that they don't want.
