What mistakes do killers make when burying a body? First of all, burying a body is not a great idea. It gives a location where the police are going to find that body eventually because someone's gonna walk by with their dog and see this weird looking area in the ground. And what they see mostly is the depression. If you dig a hole in the ground, say a rectangle, put it in a body and then throw the dirt back on top of it, that dirt has air in it.
