People message me saying they want a certificate in video editing, or graphic design, or web development. Then they plan to present that paper to an employer and expect work to follow. That is not how creative skills operate. Nobody hires a video editor because of a certificate. They hire because of what you can actually produce. Think about how the decision really gets made. Send me a certificate and I learn that you attended something. Send me three videos you edited in CapCut, with clean cuts, good pacing, proper captions and animation, and I immediately know what you can do. The second one gets the job. Every time. What you need is a portfolio. Let me tell you what mine looks like. I have websites I have built, including one for a construction company and an e-commerce store. Videos I have edited sitting in a Google Drive folder. And I built a simple site using Lovable that showcases the projects I have completed. That collection does more for me than any certificate ever could. So flip your approach entirely. Instead of chasing papers, chase ability. Learn the skill properly. Then build real work, even unpaid samples if you have no clients yet. Nobody checks whether the project was paid. They check whether it is good. Then package it into an offer. Something like editing three to five videos a week at a set rate. Now you are not job hunting. You are selling a service. Certificates prove attendance. Portfolios prove capability. Send me a certificate in video editing. Or a certificate in graphic design. Or a certificate in web development. And you think that's because you're going to get the job. Like it doesn't work like that. And to the end of the day, you have to remember this. You're hired because of your competence. You're hired because of your competence. How with CapCut, telling you need a certificate to present to an organization. Portfolio. The portfolio, it's going to say, by the way, I've done these things. I've created a website. I've created these and these and these. There's a website I did for a construction company. I did a website for interior design firm. I did an e-commerce website. Some of the videos are in Google Drive. You can check out my portfolio. I've created a very simple website, Lavabo, that showcases some of the projects I've done. So when I find guys that you've done graphic design certificate and you're looking for a job, it doesn't make sense. Especially creative ones. Not because you're given a job because of the paper. You're given a job because of what you can do from the skill. So instead of chasing areas you want to design, web development and the rest of the papers, abilities. Know how to do something. An offer. Basically solution to a problem. And sell that. Stop looking for a job as a video editor. You have a certificate. You cry a lot. If you use these videos, like for example, I've probably well, CapCut, animations, things for more. Give me, I can give you a Kagame, two to three, five videos per week. And I'll pay you this amount, depending on your rate card. Stop certificates from creative skills and papers. They will not do the work for you. It is the work you do from the skills that is actually going to help you. Think about that. Do us tomorrow. Our management.
