Glenview Primary School parents demand transparency over 'missing' funds, decry corporal punishment (2)

My name is Goodman Motaung. I'm a parent of the SGB component of Glenview Primary School. We are here today with the issues that we have that the issues that we raised with the department from 2022. It's four years now. With no luck, they don't answer us. They keep pointing, it's the principal that is running the school. But since from 2022, we don't have answers. We don't know how a principal can be at the school when there are allegations of mismanagement of funds. We found out that there's R800 000 that is missing from the school coffers. We wrote letters and emails to district officials and up until now, no luck; we don't have answers. We don't know how a principal can be at the school when there are allegations of mismanagement of funds. We are here today to say we need these things to be known because the principal is still here at the school. So what we did, we wrote the letters, emails to district officials, all the district officials, up until the MEC. But since from 2022, we never get a correct answers. So today we are here to say we need this thing to be known. Because the principal is still here at the school and running the school. On top of that, we have the deputy principal that is running her private business of selling the blankets at the school without the authorization of the SGB and the GDE.
