9 things i wish I knew before starting Azelaic Acid - My credentials - been using it since 2024 Skin type: acne prone + combo + sensitive >>> Before After >>> I use prescription strength Azelaic Acid Finacea 15% PHARMACY MEDICINE KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN Finacea Azelaic acid 15% w/w For the treatment of acne and rosacea Each g gel contains: azelaic acid 150 mg 1. It works. But it still takes time. Be consistent for at least 2-3 months. 2. SPF makes it more effective. Prevents UV from undoing the progress. 3. It's great at reducing inflammatory acne but not non-inflammatory ones like closed comedones 4. It's SO good for post marks PIE + PIH 5. It helps with sebum control 6. It's gentler than a retinoid but still a strong active. You need to build up to daily use. 7. It can ruin your barrier. If your skin is sensitive ensure you apply onto dry skin + Wait for skin to dry before applying next layer. 8. Using it in the same routine as your 'retinoid or Adapalene will likely ruin your barrier 9. It's not going to give you the GLOW. Only even out your complexion
