And of course, there's been some years where it's gone down, even lost money. But look at the last 100 plus years of the actual S&P 500, it has returned double digit returns in the majority of the time. So that is how you retire wealthy. You take 10,000 rand and then you add a little bit every week, generally 10 to 20% of your salary, and you retire with over 35 million rand when you're 65. Start at 20, end at 65, at a 12% return, it works.
