SAT Reading Tips

I got a 1600 on the SAT, here's some quick tips for how to improve your score on the reading and writing section. Firstly, for the grammar questions, if an answer choice has a period and another answer choice has a semi colon in the exact same spot, you can eliminate both of them because period and semi colon function as the same thing to separate two independent clauses. Secondly, if you have a title followed by a name, there's no punctuation in between them. This one's tested really often, and you can get the answer quickly by just finding the answer choice without punctuation. For the grammar questions, never read the whole passage. Just skip straight to the sentence with the blank in it. Don't waste your time reading anything else. And then for the transition questions, you only need to read the sentence before the blank, the sentence with the blank, and nothing else. It'll save you a lot of time if you know what you need to read and what you can skip. For the words in context questions, if you don't know a word, try to infer its meaning based on the prefix and other words that you know with the same prefix. In general, avoid answer choices with extreme language such as always, never, entirely, etcetera. I have a lot more tips, so stay tuned for more!
