Canada's biggest white supremacist group held a major meet-up this summer doing army-style drills and military-inspired chants. They went to Afghanistan, fought the Taliban. They're called Second Sons Canada. Second Sons Canada completed it's second national event in the rocky mountain foothills of Alberta this weekend. Members were subjected to a difficult challenge of physical and mental toughness as well as logistical skill testing. I am very pleased to report that the event itself and its participants succeeded in ambitiously surpassing the standard set by last year's effort, significantly. Well done to everyone who took part, our supporters and volunteers. Congratulations to our new members on their induction to our organization, member promotions and awards. After a short and much deserved rest we will be back at work to develop video documenting the event. More to follow, stay tuned. We see the sign here, exit to Calgary. There's only so many of those and we get lucky with a match on the first try. The sign and this feature here match. So now we know this happened near the city of Okotoks, south of Calgary. Okay, but what about the building where they gathered? We've got a hunch because we've seen this kind of thing before. Second Sons renting out unsuspecting community centres that aren't aware of the group's true intentions. So we start looking for community centres in the area and we find it. The Square Butte Community Hall in Millarville, Alberta, not far from Okotoks. It's a volunteer run historic space. We find this distinctive gate that matches Second Sons' footage. And the building itself matches too. And on the hall's website, we find a three-day booking that fits the timeline. To find out what locals think, we team up with our colleagues at CBC Calgary. And they go to Millarville. What's it like hearing that Canada's largest white supremacist group was here a few weeks ago hosting a gathering? Honestly, I'm really surprised. People out here are pretty accepting, but I think they would still be quite shocked to see something like that going on. Completely disturbing. I am at a loss for words. The Square Butte Community Association told CBC that Second Sons did not identify itself to the hall. The hall is 'committed to providing a respectful and inclusive community space.' The RCMP said it is 'aware' of Second Sons and is 'actively monitoring the rise of hate-motivated crime and incidents across the country.' Second Sons did not respond to CBC.
