The illegal activity in Türkiye that you've fallen for before. Don't get caught out by this one passport rule when visiting Türkiye. It's actually illegal, so make sure you listen up. We're all taught to leave our passports in the hotel safe when visiting a destination in order to don't get lost or stolen. But in Türkiye, this is a big mistake. Like it is with a lot of other countries, it is actually a legal requirement that you carry photo ID with you at all times. And yes, that includes tourists. But for tourists, it does need to be your actual passport, showing your stamp for entry into the country. Here's my top tips in order to make don't lose your passport when carrying it around with you in the destination. If you are going out and about, shopping or on an excursion, make sure you have a money belt, put your passport into something that has a zip and keeps your passport secure. Also make sure a photo of the photo page of your passport saved on your phone. Or take a photocopy with you, because if it or stolen while you're on about, you'll need this temporary replacement. Türkiye aren't the only destination that carry photo I. D. So to check if the destination you're travelling to requires this as well, visit the F. website where it all the information to do while visiting the destination.
