Social media is fake and this is a readers and especially BookTok edition of why it is. I made a list. No. 1 is that I usually four books a month. Sometimes I read less, and I only ever read more if I really have more free time than I normally do. No. 2 is that I don't read everyday, and sometimes I really just don't feel like reading and then I don't. No. 3 some books make me really, really tired, and some even single handedly tend to put me in a reading slump. No. 4 is that I usually enjoy the simpler books more than the books with the most complicated writing or the biggest thoughts. And I do enjoy them occasionally, but normally I tend to lean more towards the simpler ones. No. 5 is that even though I read classics, I wouldn't consider myself to be very knowledgeable about them. No. 6 I don't annotate. I have tried it and it really didn't work for me at all. I really disliked it. I just wanna read. No. 7 I always prioritize quality over quantity. I do not care about the amount of books that I read. I care about taking them in and enjoying them as much as I can and as thoroughly as I can. And lastly, No. 8 I quit books if I don't like them instead of pushing myself to get through them. So these are just some examples of my personal reading habits. Um, everyone's different, and I feel like BookTok sometimes tends to overlook that. It's all about who can read the fastest, who reads the most books, the most complicated books. But it's all for yourself. You read for yourself. You don't anything to anyone. And I feel like that is a message that I want to share with you guys. So remember that if you have any of these things or your own little things, it's all okay. It doesn't matter.
