In case the world made you forget, here are five things that are just not normal if you're in your 20s. Number one, buying a luxury car. This is something that you go out on social media and it seems like everyone in their 20s has a luxury car, but this is just the 1% or it's people that can truly not afford it. If you're in your 20s, your priority should be investing for your future, not buying a depreciating asset. Number two, owning a home in your 20s. This is something that is a luxury that most people just can't do now and it should not be normalized. A lot of people in their 20s that actually bought a house has had help from their parents or they lived at home for multiple years, so don't feel bad if you can't afford to buy a home in your 20s. Number three, not working a 9-5. I know social media can make it feel like everyone is a content creator now or everyone has a business, but again that is just not normal. And most of the time working 9-5 gives you so many benefits that you don't think about, like vacation time, health insurance, retirement, and most of the time content creators only last a year anyways. Number four is going on multiple vacations every year. This is not normal to do and in fact most people that are doing this are just putting everything on credit cards, which is the worst financial decision you can make for your future. And number five is beauty and maintenance. It's totally okay to never have gotten a facial before or not get your nails done every couple weeks or even never to buy your makeup from Sephora. It is so expensive and it is so easy to compare your habits to those of influencers, but the reality is they're getting all of that for free. So let this be your reminder to not compare your own situation to social media because it's not normal.
