Dear Lord Jesus

Dear Lord Jesus, we have real needs. And one of those needs is to control the thoughts that go through our minds. Lord God, we live in such a sex-saturated society that it's a challenge to keep our minds on that which is true and pure and good. Protect us, Lord God. Protect us from lapsing into a "mordy gra" mentality. Or into all excitement, excitement. Lord God, thank you that we can settle in and have peace with you. Peace with our spouse, peace with our girlfriend or boyfriend, peace with our children and peace with our siblings and peace with our friends. Lord, that is what we want. Not envying and greedily grasping, not wanting to possess or manipulate somebody sexually. But instead, to learn to love each other, to build deep meaningful friendships, and to enjoy you, to enjoy each other, and to enjoy the incredible gift of life you've blessed us with. Now help us to do that, Lord. Help us to control our thoughts, to fix our thoughts on you, and what is good and true and pure and right. In Christ's name. Amen. Lord, thank you so much that you've created us as holistic beings, not just meat on a stick, not just our flesh and body, but instead you've created us with a soul, with a will, and so much more. Our culture, we know, just invisions us when it comes to a lustful passion as just connected to our bodies. But instead, we thank you that you have created us where we can have a soulmate really, and not just somebody who has a fleshly connection with us. Help us to know that, to understand that, give us wisdom in which relationships to enter into, give us wisdom to get out of an isolated place where we can fall prey to lust. Give us wisdom to have accountability partners who put us in the right direction as we pray and talk to you for ultimate direction. In Jesus' name. Amen.
