Spend the day with me as a cancer patient and clinical psychology postdoc. Except for today did not go at all as planned. My day actually started really early at like 4:30 in the morning because we went to the gym to see our personal trainer where we've been working on strength training and it's been really good for my low bone density post chemo. Not to mention being active for like the first time in my life has been such a game changer for me. So I got home from the gym, took a shower, did the fastest five minute curly hair routine of my life because that's all I really have the tolerance for. I went ahead and fed the baby some breakfast. We always pray before our meals and he was very patient. This has taken a lot of practice, but it's seriously my favorite trick that he does. Finished getting ready for the day, said bye to the baby, of course. And then went ahead and drove over to the hospital. I'm going on vacation this week and before I leave, I had to get some blood work done and also I had to get an EKG done because when I get back from vacation, I have to have a surgery. They're removing a suspicious little spot in my lungs and then they're gonna send it off for biopsy to see if it's anything that we need to be concerned about. But thankfully my mom usually comes to me with these appointments, which helps alleviate some of that anxiety. After that, I went to work and started prepping for the four clients that I had scheduled that afternoon. But unfortunately, this is the point where things started to take a turn for the worse. I had sent some photos to my oncologist over the weekend of some weird spots that had shown up on my leg and I thought they were nothing, but he messaged me back immediately saying that I needed to go to the dermatologist ASAP. So I had to cancel my clients for the day, head home and then my mom picked up me and my husband as we drove an hour to my dermatologist. She gave me a snack on the way. Eh, honestly made me feel better. Thank you, mom. And then we showed up at my derm appointment. These are the weird spots that were showing up on my leg, which I honestly just thought were bug bites, but everybody else seems to be a little bit more concerned. And my dermatologist, who is actually my favorite doctor that I've ever had, went ahead and took a biopsy of one of the spots, which was scary, but I was so brave. Here's me afterwards. And then we drove home. So it was another hour drive home. And my mom did stop and get us another treat afterwards. And sometimes that's all you need to make yourself feel better is a little bit of sugar and a nice long car ride home. When we got home, my dad had actually already picked up dinner for us. So we all ate dinner together and tried to forget about the day. And then I put the baby to bed. This is my favorite part of every single day is our nightly cuddles. He's so sweet. I love him so much. And I took my meds and then I did my leg pump to help with the lymphedema in my leg that I had cancer in. And then went ahead and went to bed. That's it. Love y'all.
