This project has tested me in ways I never expected. I've changed travel plans, extended my stay, waited on people who didn't show up, stressed over timelines, worried about safety, chased down materials, and had days where I've felt completely overwhelmed. But somewhere in the middle of all that frustration, I realized something. I've been so worried about when I can finally go home. And then it hit me... I have a home to go back to. A place where I can close the door, put down my bags, sleep safely, and know that tomorrow, it'll still be there waiting for me. Mama T has been waiting 13 years for that feeling. And suddenly, a delayed flight, another few days, or a construction timeline that didn't go according to plan felt a little less important. This experience has taught me a lot about patience—but even more about perspective. Sometimes the experiences that inconvenience us are the same ones that remind us just how much we have. And maybe part of discovering the world is allowing it to change the way you see your own. I do need to get home. But before I do, I want to know that when Mama T walks through that door, she finally has a home she'll never have to wonder about again. So if it takes a few more days, we keep building.
