Yesterday I got a taste of how the economy is actually doing. I knew it was bad but I didn't realize it was this bad. Okay. Last night we go out in Laguna for the first time. I know, my scene is normally Newport but I was like let's switch it up, you know, let's have a change of scenery. We're waiting in line. We get up to the bouncer and he's like it's a $10 cover fee, you know? And I was like, okay, I was expecting this, whatever. I go to Apple Pay, I hear the ding and I start walking with the bar. All of a sudden I hear, man, man, man, man. I whip around and I'm like, what? Clutch my pearls and I'm like, oh my god, you startled me. What? The girl flips around her little iPad thing and she shows me the tip screen. I'm looking at the tip screen and I'm like, hold up. You want me to tip you because you just charged me $10 to get into this bar? I have no concept of money, so I just kind of look at her and I'm like, you're one of those like ordinary heroes. Alcohol rates are down, kids aren't drinking these days, you know, like your industry is struggling. So I tipped her 20%. And I was like, okay, yeah. Then I walk into the bar and I go up to order a drink, you know, little vodka cran or whatever. Then this lady comes up and she starts ordering two glasses of Sauvignon Blanc and an espresso martini. And I was like, Cardi. I mean, you're not a Newport anymore. No seltzers, no tequila sodas, just shit drinks. No. We're fine. We're drinking wine and espresso martinis at the bar. So yeah, that just kind of set me up. I was dancing around with a bunch of middle-aged moms and a couple dads, you know, somebody come get your dad. You know what I mean? But overall, it was pretty fun. Did I spend a shit ton of money to be there? Yes. But it cost a lot to have fun these days. And you know what? It's a price I'm willing to pay. Yeah. God.
