🌿 Think hydrangeas can’t thrive in Alberta? Think again. These are two of my favourite shrubs in my own garden: 🤍 Limelight Hydrangea — 4 years old 🌸 Fire Light Hydrangea — 5 years old Both are panicle hydrangeas, hardy to Zone 3, and thrive in a location that receives 6+ hours of full sun every day. One of the reasons I recommend panicle hydrangeas to Edmonton and Alberta gardeners is that they bloom on new wood, meaning they reliably flower year after year—even after our cold winters. They’re also beautiful through every season: 🤍 Summer: creamy white blooms 🌸 Fall: soft blush and pink tones 🤎 Winter: dried caramel blooms that add texture and interest to the landscape If you’re looking for a hardy, low-maintenance flowering shrub that provides months of beauty, these two varieties are at the top of my list. 💬 Do you grow hydrangeas? I’d love to know which varieties are thriving in your garden! 📌 Save this post if you’re planning your next landscape project. 🌱 Follow @maisonverteyeg for practical gardening tips tailored to Edmonton, Alberta, and Zone 3/4 gardens. 🌿 Join the Maison Verte Garden Club through the link in my bio for exclusive gardening tips, seasonal inspiration, and to shop my favourite gardening tools and products. #Hydrangea #PanicleHydrangea #LimelightHydrangea #FireLightHydrangea #zone3gardening
