How to Make a Mosquito Dunk Bucket

🦟 Edmonton gardeners… if mosquitoes are taking over your backyard, here’s one of the easiest things you can do to fight them before they hatch. Mosquito dunks contain a naturally occurring bacteria (Bti) that targets mosquito larvae in standing water. It’s safe for birds, pets, pollinators, fish, and other wildlife when used as directed—but deadly to mosquito larvae. 🌿 Mosquito Dunk Bucket Recipe: 🪣 1 large bucket 
💧 Fill ¾ full with water
🍂 Add a handful of leaves, grass clippings, or straw (this attracts egg-laying mosquitoes)
🦟 Add mosquito dunk (follow the product directions for the amount of water you’re treating)
🌳 Place the bucket in a shady corner of your yard, away from where you spend the most time.
🔄 Top up the water as needed and replace the dunk about every 30 days, according to the label. Instead of giving mosquitoes dozens of places to breed around your yard, you’re encouraging them to lay eggs in one spot—where the larvae never survive.
