Our darling Whispy🧡… We have no idea what she’s been through in her life, but her fears are deeply ingrained. She has no trust in anything or anyone, apart from a select few dogs at the rescue that she has dropped her guard with. She has absolutely no idea about human kindness, nor what our intentions are. She grumbles and barks when we enter her kennel in pure panic, as she’s so scared of what we’re going to do to her. Even though she may sound a little scary, she lets us stroke her and pick her up absolutely fine .. kind of like she’s just given up. It’s quite sad actually. Whispy currently has 2 kennel friends who she gets on well with and shares everything with. One is a Shih Tzu Cross and one is a Poodle Cross. We have tried quite a few dogs with her and it does seem as though she favours smaller dogs to larger ones. And definitely calmer, quieter ones that don’t get in her face. Whispy will need a very patient and understanding home with adopters who have experience with very scared dogs. Because she’s on the older side, she may never truly lose all of her worries and fears, and may never become a ‘normal’ dog, and this is something her adopters will need to be okay with, and love her and accept her anyway. Things such as going out for walks are not currently in the near future for Whipsy, and it’s going to take a lot of time and gentle guidance to ease her into such things. This poor, sweet girl does not deserve to live her life in fear and panic mode. She deserves to have a safe place to call her own, where she knows nobody is going to hurt her.
