⬇️ READ HER STORY ⬇️ Today while volunteering at the shelter, I walked past a dog with the sweetest, yet saddest, look in her eyes. She was just laying on her bed inside her kennel… Her name is Betty. She’s 3 years old and arrived at the shelter as a stray in June. Nobody ever came looking for her. 💔 How does a dog this sweet go missing and not have a single person looking for her? I had been hearing about Betty from other volunteers, and everyone kept telling me how sweet and loving she is. So today, I wanted to meet her myself. I decided to take her for a walk, and when I opened her kennel door, she got up from her bed and did the cutest little stretch before coming out. Then she started licking my face, rolling around, and soaking up every bit of attention she could get ❤️🥹 She was so happy just to have someone with her. For the entire 20 minutes we had together, Betty was glued to my side. I took her to the off leash area, but she wasn’t interested in exploring or sniffing around. All she wanted was to lay next to me and get as much love as she could. And then, before we even realized it, our 20 minutes were over. I had to take Betty back so I could walk the other dogs who were waiting for their turn. That’s why volunteers have to divide our time at the shelter. We want every dog to have a chance to get out of their kennel. But with more volunteers, these dogs could have more time outside and more time with people. Betty is wonderful on leash, doesn’t make a sound in her kennel, and she shows very positive body language around other dogs. I truly believe she is dog-friendly. She spends most of her day lying on her bed, waiting for the day someone finally chooses her. She has already waited for more than two months. And every day she waits, I get a little more scared for her. I told Betty I loved her today. I really hope someone sees this video, comes to the shelter, and chooses her. She deserves to stop waiting. ❤️ #dog #rescue #Love #sad #story
