THIS NOT THAT: DIPTYQUE EDITION

Listen, just because I work at Diptyque doesn't mean I have to love every product. So here three products I would advise against and what I would recommend you get instead. Solid perfumes are cute but not worth it in my opinion. If you're looking for something with no silage and no projection, get this. I also understand that it's small and convenient, but honestly, it doesn't smell like anything. It's very, very intimate. And for around the same price, you're better off getting a hair mist instead. These are a lot more potent, they last longer in the hair rather than wax on the skin. And they do have decent silage and projection, so I'd recommend this over the solid perfumes. Second is a perfumed hand creams. Yes, they smell really, really good and they're nice to layer on with your existing scent. But at least for me, the fragrance intensity really dries out my hands. It's not moisturizing or hydrating enough for my hand needs. Instead, I'd recommend doing the luxurious hand balm, which doesn't have that much added perfume in it. It has almond seed oil and apricot seed oil, so it kind of smells like a peach ring to me. It's really nice. But because it's a balm instead of a cream, it's going to have a thicker consistency that's just very nourishing and hydrating on the skin, despite it having added fragrance. Same price, great fragrance, but more intentionally nourishing and hydrating. Last but not least is the 70g candles. These have a time and place, of course. But if you're already spending money on a luxury candle, you might as well get a classic candle instead. This is $48 for 70g, about 15 to 20 hour burn time. This is $90 for 190g, about a 60 hour burn time. So yes, this has almost double the price of this, but you're getting almost three times as much product. In addition, some of these scents are going to be available for refill on the 190g classic size. So in the long run, it's a better bang for your buck, I think. Of course, there are nuances and caveats, you like what you like, but this is my professional opinion as somebody who's worked for the brand for three years. Let me know your thoughts.
